About Monica Booker
Testimony on the Page
Monica (Farrow) Booker was born and raised in uptown Washington, D.C., the sole daughter of Monica (Pollard) and Robert Farrow, Jr. Rooted in faith from childhood, she received the Holy Ghost at age 12 at Bethel Commandment Church of the Living God — a church erected by her paternal grandfather, Bishop Farrow, Sr. In the summer of 1998, she relocated to small-town New Jersey, graduated high school, and went on to college. It was during those years she quietly adopted the poetic name Sista Testa Monet — written only in her journal. Life brought its seasons. She married, became Monica Booker, and welcomed a daughter who shares her love of the arts through ballet. Music runs deep in her family — her maternal grandmother played piano, as did her mother and uncle — and Monica carries that forward as a percussionist, playing the drum set at her church. Encouraged by loved ones to share her gift publicly, Monica began performing her poetry in congregations, restaurants, and open mics. Today she is a divorced author who continues to pour her life experiences onto the page — unfiltered, faith-filled, and fully herself.
Through books like Divinely Transcribed, Overcome, The Wilderness Season, and Quieting My Mind, Monica invites readers into the raw, honest journey of faith — from the valleys of wilderness to the mountaintops of breakthrough.
Her mission is simple: to use divinely inspired words to encourage, heal, and ignite purpose in the lives of her readers. Every book is a testament to God's faithfulness through every season.
